Abstract:

This paper presents a methodological approach for evaluation of the jet engine min-max fuel controller in flight condition. First, A Wiener model for gas turbine engine is developed . Next, the engine control requirements are explained and a fuel controller is designed based on a min-max strategy. Then , in order to evaluate the designed controller in flight conditions, an integrated engine and flight simulator is developed in a modular fashion allowing easy reconfiguration for use with various control strategies and flight maneuvers. Flight simulation results using the various pilot commands the transient and steady state performance of the engine control system . The results obtained show the ability of the approach to achieve an acceptable performance as well as the engine protection against the physical limits and confirm the fuel controller performance in the flight condition.
