Abstract:
The effect of rotational speed in shelling machine (LMS type) on maize cultivars of Ebaa (106) and Ebaa (3001) were tested during shelling at three speed of 400,500and 600rpm . The experiments were carried out in a factorial experiment under complete randomized design with three replications. The results showed that the 106 cultivar wassignificantly better than the 3001 in all studied conditions. The results showed a shelling productivity of 1.616 and 1.431 th, shelling efficiency of 84.704% and 83.296%,unshelled grains of 1.314 and1.430% ,loose grains at kernel outlet of 1.308 and 1.468 %, grains damage of 1.847 and 1.990% and grain cleanliness of 88.260 and 86.765 % broken maize of 4.298 % and 5.268 % and cracked grain percentage of 3.163 % and 3.501 %, for Ebaa 106 and Ebaa 3001, respectively. The rotational speed of 400 was significantly superior to the levels of 500 and 600 rpm in all studied conditions.
