Understanding the anatomy of the maxillary sinuses is paramount in ensuring predictability of sinus manipulation. Not only variations in normal anatomy, but also changes caused by current or previous diseases may necessitate modifications in common or usual practices. Three-dimensional assessment allows for increasing predictable success rates by understanding the anatomy and sinuses and how they may react to or affect surgical procedures.
