Abstract:
In this study, the effect of nitrogen on the corrosion resistance of the passive films formed on Fe-23Cr-2.4Mo solution nitrided at 1200℃ in a nitrogen gas pressure of 0.25 MPa (2.5bar) for 12 h (HNASS) evaluated by recording open circuit potential (ocp),potentiodynamics polarization (PP),electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in 0.5M H2SO4 solution. The results showed that nitrogen increased the general corrosion resistance compared with the Fe-23Cr-2.4Mo steel which was related to the formation of stable and protective passive film.
