Abstract:

Introduction: Increasing age in Iran in recent years has been one of the main concerns of the health system. One of the most important health system issues is the cost of aging care and treatment for the elderly. The cost is related to the aging of Iran. Methodology: This article is the result of 12 articles on aging and aging-related costs as a result of the search for Mdconsult, Sciencedirect, Pedro, SID, Pubmed, Ggoogle scholar. Keywords: aging, economy, aging costs, Iran, was used. Results: According to Iran s demographic indicators in the 1970s, about half of the population was under the age of 15, and by 2025 the population will be elderly. By 2050, the fertility rate is expected to be 2.1 and life expectancy is 78.5 years, and the population over the age of 60 is more than 20 percent from 6 percent in 1996. Although there has been a study in Iran, The nose is not paid for the elderly, but in an optimistic scenario, the elderly population will increase from about 6.7% in 2000 to 20% in 2050, and by taking five times the cost of treatment for the elderly, responding to health costs Need more than 2.5 times per person per person. Conclusion: In recent decades, Iran has been exposed to the economic burden of contagious and infectious diseases and health sector activities focus on the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of the complications of these diseases. But there is a third wave, and soon the economic burden of diseases will be concentrated on the population around Iran and its consequences, and for decision makers and officials it is necessary to consider plans to address this issue.
