Comparative study between Iranian-Islamic urbanism and Roman urbanism abstract

The city is the bearer of spirit and geography which arises from its origins, and also is the sign of civilization, and culture of its own society. Geographical location differences led to emergence of urban various civilizations. One of the most important and influential urban structures is Iranian-Islamic urbanism. Iranian cities, in the early periods, afterIslam arrival, continued to their live in this primary shape (ancient fort, sharia, and Rabth), until Islam gradually dictated its characteristics on this Cities. This civilization changed these Iranian cities with two methods which include producing new elements in these city , and transforming old elements and in the other word, turned them into Iranian-Islamic cities. Compared to the Iran urbanization, Roman urbanism is a tremendous period of Europe urbanization before Industrial Revolution. And hence, someperiods of Iranian urbanization had affected from this civilization. For this purpose, in this study, a comparative analysis was carried out between Iranian-Islamic urban structure and Roman urbanization with using descriptive-analytical process and library information.
