Abstract:
Purpose: To report a case report of inadvertent inferior oblique extirpation during cosmetic orbital decompression. Methods: A 38-year-old female with thyroid eye disease underwent cosmetic right orbital decompression during which inadvertent inferior oblique extirpation was noticed. Results: The IO muscle was repaired on the same session with no postoperative diplopia at the last follow up. Conclusion: Inferior oblique muscle injury should be considered during trans eyelid orbital decompression
