GROUNDWATER MANAGEMENT USING SIMULATION-OPTIMIZATION APPROACH abstract
A rapid growth of population and urban development in Tabriz city has been caused a great problem in groundwater system like groundwater table increasing. In this research a simulation-optimization approach has been used to manage the aquifer withdrawal. In this regard a numerical model has been linked to an optimization programming based on evolutionary algorithm. Firstly the critical area of Tabriz city has been divided to four sub-systems and then for each of them an optimal allocation has been designed. The results show that in three sub-systems with this policy, the water table has been decreased step by step but in other one due to a considerable groundwater recharge, this optimal solution can not solve the groundwater level increasing.
