Abstract:

Generators play important role in power systems regarding the improvement of voltage profile and congestionmanagement. In modern power systems which have subjected to severe stress, the voltage becomes more important, so,attempts must be made to improve voltage profile as much as possible.To do so, in this thesis the optimal size and placement of DG like photovoltaic unit has been performed toimprove voltage profile and congestion management. Therefore two indices namely voltage profile and congestionmanagement have been considered. Photovoltaic unit is installed in demand side. This unit injects active power at loadbuses and reduces from current flowing in lines. So, it increases voltage magnitude at load buses. For congestionmanagement with photovoltaic unit exists same reason, too. So, photovoltaic unit installation idea is considered in thisthesis.Furthermore, in order to establish the more realistic condition of a power system, radiation uncertainty of sunand and load uncertainty is also considered.
