Abstract:
7 Koh-e Latif iron deposit is located in the central part of Urumieh–Dokhtar Magmatic Arc, Central Iran. The iron 8 ores are hosted by Cretaceous limestone that granite and granodiorite units were intruded in this limestone. The ore 9 minerals in Koh-e Latif skarn are magnetite with minor chalcopyrite and pyrite. Gangue minerals are predominantlydiopside, andradite, epidote, chlorite, quartz and calcite. Field and petrographical observations indicate stages of Skarn occurrence: (A)Prograde stage: pyroxene+ garnet +magnetite (C) Sulfide stage: Pyrite+ chalcopyrite+ covellite+ garnet+ chlorite+ quartz +calcite (D) Oxidation stage: hematite+ goethite+ quartz+ calcite.
