Abstract:
Nanocomposite ceramic coatings were fabricated on Ti6Al4V titanium alloy via plasma electrolyticoxidation (PEO) method in electrolytes containing different concentrations of aluminate andphosphate. Morphology and chemical composition of the coatings were evaluated by field emissionscanning electron microscope (FESEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Electrochemical corrosionbehavior of the coatings was determined by potentiodynamic polarization test in phosphate bufferedsaline (PBS) solution. The results showed that the sample coated in mixed aluminate/phosphateelectrolyte with 10 g/L concentration of each of the compounds had the best corrosion resistance.
