An overview of the impact of new technologies on architectural forms

Technology has affected every aspect of our lives, including architecture. Since the construction of the first form of shelter, architecture has undergone several transformations, producing new activities in each period. Today has seen a completely different experience—we are in a period where we can realize and experience virtual space constructs. This study examines a certain section of the understanding of today’s architecture. For this purpose, we followed the following method: first, the definition of form was constructed and the economic significance in the architecture was searched. Subsequently, some of the concepts that constitute the architectural form are defined and the historical process of form formation in architecture is mentioned. Six of the various architectural approaches, including cybermonary architecture, fluid architecture, hypersurface architecture, science-fiction architecture, interactive architecture, emergent architecture, were examined. For better understanding, an example of each was considered. A table has been created for the relationship between the concepts that form the architectural form. Thus, the common and different aspects of each one have been revealed.
