A simple strategy for synthesis of 2,4-Diaryl-9H-pyrido[2,3-b]indoles using nanoparticles of MnO2 as catalyst

A simple and promising one-pot route for synthesis of 2,4-diaryl-9H-pyrido[2,3-b]indoles in the presence of MnO2 nanoparticles as a catalyst is introduced. For synthesizing of compounds of interest with desired yields, a combination of a chalcone, an oxindole and ammonium acetate in the presence of MnO2, as a catalyst, was heated without usage of any solvents.
