Abstract:
Recent studies show that some chronic epilepsies have autoimmune based in which an inflammatory or autoimmune etiology is suspected though it might not yet be proved. The aim of this review is to investigate evidence of chronic seizures which are autoimmune but are apart for encephalitis and have no prima signs of acute or subacute encephalitis.These seizures are called epilepsy with evidence of autoimmune mediated CNS inflammation .By using appropriate keywords, databases including were searched until November 2018 for relevant trials in adults and children. the clinical course, Imaging, autoantibodies,CSF findings,EEG characteristics and treatment options are discussed.
