Fabrication of Glucose Biosensor Based On Aligned Carbon Nanotube Arrays abstract

In this study, a new method for the fabrication of vertically aligned Carbon nanotube arrays (VACNTs) based electrode for the selective detection of glucose was employed. VACNTs were grown by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method on the silicon substrate. A mixture of Al2O3 and KOH solution was used for Chemical and mechanical polishing. Cyclic voltammetry methods was used to investigate the electrochemical behavior of the synthesized VACNTs. The detection limit of the fabricated biosensor is 1.25µM and the sensitivity toward glucose detection is 0.283 mA.mM-1cm-2 and the linear detection range was (1-45) µM. The fabricated biosensor performed effectively for the selective detection of glucose in the presence of other interferences.
