Abstract:
Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA) is an efficient and promising kind of nanotechnology to continuescaling device at nano-scale. QCA full adder (FA) circuits are the fundamental unit in arithmetic circuitsdesign. In the first step of this paper, an efficient three-input XOR gate is proposed based on the cellinteraction technique. Then, an efficient structure is developed based on the developed XOR gate for onebitQCA FA. The QCADesigner version 2.0.3 is used for verifying circuit functioning. Theimplementation results show that the designed QCA XOR gate has 11 quantum cells, 0.01 μm2 area, and0.5 clock cycles. Moreover, the designed QCA FA structure has 25 quantum cells, 0.02 μm2 area, and 0.5clock cycles. The comparison results demonstrate that the developed structures provide improvements incomparison with other structures in terms of area, cell count, latency and cost.
