DC-DC boost converter control implementation based on hardware-in-loop using nonlinear controller abstract
This paper presents a novel control scheme based on hardware-in-loop structure for DC-DC boost converter. In order to implement practical prototype, a multi-function data acquisition card called Advantech 1710 HG is employed. This card can establish a connection between the computer and the DC-DC boost converter circuit. To realize voltage regulation, a robust controller called RISE (robust integral of the sign of the error) feedback is considered. This controller is inspired from 2nd order sliding mode while it can control system with different relative degree. Also, its chattering is acceptable in comparison with conventional sliding mode strategy. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated via simulation and practical test and the results confirm the capability of the hardware-in-loop control scheme.
