A Low Power Concurrent Dual-Band Low Noise Amplifier for WLAN Applications abstract
This paper presents a concurrent dual-band low noise amplifier (LNA) for 2.4/5.2-GHz WLAN applications. A common source configuration with current-reused technique is applied in the LNA to decrease the power consumption and provide wide bandwidth. By using notch filters to shape the frequency response, the proposed dual-band LNA is matched concurrently at the both bands with high performance. The proposed dual-band LNA has been designed and simulated in RF-TSMC 0.18μm CMOS technology by Advanced Designed System(ADS). The amplifier works at 1.5 V supply voltage with 2.6 mW power consumption. At 2.4 GHz, simulation results exhibit a noise figure of 2.5 dB, a power gain (S21) of 14 dB and an input return loss (S11) of -12.8 dB. In addition, it features a noise figure of 2.8 dB, a power gain (S21) of 12.5 dB and an input return loss (S11) of -14.2 dB at 5.2-GHz.
