Abstract:

In this study, free vibration and buckling behaviors of sandwich beam with honeycomb core and functionally graded carbon nanotubes reinforced composite (FGCNTRCs) face sheets are investigated. The displacement components are described based on theTimoshenko beam theory (TBT). The structure is rested on viscoelastic foundation. The governing equations are derived using Hamilton’s principle and variational calculus and are solved analytically via Navier’s solution method. The effect of different parameters suchas cell angle, internal aspect ratio and value of cell thickness and different types of CNTs distribution are considered. The results show by enhancing the cell angle in honeycomb core, the natural frequency and critical buckling load of the structure increased. Bycomparing types of CNTs distribution, it is found that FG-VA results are more than FG-AV. The findings of the current study can be used to design prominent role in modern engineering applications like in aerospace, automotive and sports equipment construction
