Tea compost as a natural adsorbent for lead uptake from aqueous solutions abstract
The objective of this study was to investigate the possibility of using Tea compost as an alternative adsorbent for removing Pb2+ ions from aqueous solutions. The effect of various parameters such as pH, contact time and adsorbent dosage on removal of Pb2+ ions was investigated. Obtained results gave an adsorption rate of 97% at pH = 2, exposure time of 30 minutes at 25o C. These results have demonstrated the immense potential of tea compost as an alternative adsorbent for lead ions remediation in polluted water and waste waters. Langmuir and Freundlich models were tested to describe the equilibrium data. It was found that Freundlich model describes well the experimental data
