Generation Expansion Planning Taking Wind Supplies and Energy Efficiency Strategies into Consideration abstract
Due to the discrete nature and great dimensions of power system, the problem of generation expansion planning(GEP) has been deemed as a challenging issue for a long time. Recently, the subject of planning and investment has been exposed to new complexities. Thus, determination of incentive policies and projects by regulator is assumed crucially important. Similarly, with respect to network expansion, the subject of (GEP) should be implemented by considering the network extent and the location of new power plants. So, in order to encourage investors to invest in wind-based power sources and to achieve regulator objectives regarding new power plants location, in this paper, the incentives are determined by regulator through calculating optimal power flow during target year where the incentives are based on locational marginal prices. Extended simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of our scheme.
