Abstract:

Novel Schiff base complexes of Co (ӀӀ) and Cu (ӀӀ)-immobilized on chemically modified iron oxide nanoparticles (Fe3O4@SiO2@APTMS/Schiff base/ M ( ӀӀ)) has been synthesized as an efficient and retrievable nanocatalyst for oxidation reaction of alkenes. Various techniques such as FTIR, XRD, SEM, EDS and UV-Vis were carried out for characterization of the prepared particles. The catalytic functionality of the magnetic nanocatalysts were investigated for the oxidation of olefins. The results illustrate that Fe3O4@SiO2@APTMS/Schiff base/ Cu (ӀӀ) can be the most efficient nanocatalyst exclusively for oxidation of styrene and α-methyl styrene with 92-100 % conversions and 68-90% selectivity of benzaldehyde and acetophenone, respectively in the presence of H2O2 as an eco-friendly oxidant. The Prepared magnetic nanocatalysts can be retrieved easily without remarkable devaluation of its catalytic property by operating an external magnetic process.
