Experimental Study of Mix Design for Making Lightweight Concrete with High Strength abstract
In this article regarding experimental studies, an applied criterion has been presented for making lightweight concretes with high strength using light grain of Leca. In present experimental mixes, factors such as the ratio of water to cement, micro silica, air entrainment admixture and the vacuum on cement paste have been investigated on experimental samples and then considering obtained results, weight ratios of materials have been showed in order to perform mix design of lightweight concrete with high strength. The test results obtained from this study can be used in decreasing weight of prefabricated segments to maintain the cost balance of transport, installation and lowering steel and heavy dimensions of concrete.
