LP-10 identified from protein hydrolysate white grub larvae exhibiting an inducing effect on antioxidant enzyme activities in human lung carcinoma cell line of A549 abstract

In this study, Protein Hydrolysate White grub larvae was fractionized by reversed phase highpressure liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). The sequences one of the peptide fractions were identified by tandem mass spectrometry and named as LP-10. Antioxidant activity and cellular effect of synthetic peptides on A549 cell line were investigated. Results showed that by increasing of peptide concentrations induced significantly (P < 0.01) activities of superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase. Different peptide concentrations exhibited a quantitative hemolytic activity. At the highest concentration, only 6.56% of hemolysis were observed. Our results suggested that the peptides of white grub larvae, possessed an inducing effect on increase of antioxidant enzyme activities in A549 cells.
