Energy balanced cluster-based routing in Wireless Sensor Networks abstract
Energy efficiency is the main objective in the design of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). The most of the energy in these networks consume for data transmission. In this regard, we proposed a new multi-hop cluster-based routing algorithm in WSNs called Energy balanced cluster-based routing (EBCR) to decrease energy consumption and extend network lifetime. According to the non-uniform energy consumption among nodes and dynamic changes of network condition, our proposed scheme is performed in different rounds to check the residual energy of CH and replace it with new one. Also the proposed approach uses unique routing based on the dynamic network’s condition in clusters that focus on the load-balancing issue and optimize the selection of the forwarding nodes for energy efficiency. Residual energy and distance are two main adjustment parameters for next-hop election in our scheme. The comparative results demonstrate our scheme’s supremacy in terms of the energy efficiency in WSN compared to other existing methods.
