Numerical Investigation on Dual-Band Planar Antenna aimed at Adaptation with 5G and IoT abstract
This paper discusses the optimization procedure of a low profile ultrawide bandwidth planar Archimedean spiral antenna in such a way to becompatible with IoT oriented applications. The primary spiral has two resonances approximately at 1.4 GHz and 2 GHz. The substrate and radiating layer material are Taconic RF-60A and copper, respectively. Dimensions increment have to be prevented for working at low frequencies, different geometries for side arms are simulated. A central hole in order to improve the antennas performance isdesigned that led to the neglecting of bothering frequencies higher than 2GHz. All simulations are done by use of CST Microwave Studio. Although a working frequency band lower than normal is covered, final dimensions are pragmatically small enough.
