Abstract:
In the paper, a combined extrusion Formation was studied to produce the hollow and footed cup-shaped specimens with axial symmetry and circular cross-section. The research was conducted numerically and through the finite element method. To study the required force in the formation process, the combined extrusion was selected as the forming process and the Aluminium bar was selected as the ductile material to simulate and analyze the data. Computer simulation was dynamically performed using the ABAQUS commercial software. The goal of the study was to investigate the effect of the different parameters such as friction of force required in the process and study the maximum and minimum strain and stress. The results were presented as the diagrams of force-friction during the deformation process. Also, the deformation during the process and distribution of the strain and stress contours for the extrusion. First, the numerical model was verified by the experimental results of a benchmark source. Next, a footed cup-shaped specimen with axial symmetry was successfully formed by the combined extrusion process.
