Abstract:
Air movement acceptability plays an important role in the occupants’ comfort under HVAC. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the air movement acceptability in two different arrangements of UFAD diffusers at three different inlet air temperature of 12, 16 and 20°C. The first arrangement (Case 1) is about the conditions that the UFAD diffusers symmetrically are located at right and left sides of the subjects. Although, in the second arrangement (Case 2), one of the UFAD diffusers is located near the subjects’ feet and another at front and back sides of the subjects. Results indicated that the case 1 have 70% and 80% air movement acceptability at the inlet air temperature of at 20°C and 24°C, respectively. While, for the second case, the maximum percentage of air movement acceptability was about 70% and occurred at the inlet temperature of 20°C. In comparison, the case 1 shows a higher air acceptability than case 2 (about 10%) and it occurs at about 4°C higher temperature than case 2.
