Abstract:

In the present study, the effect of using a digital computer game and its role on promoting Iranian kids’ listening comprehension was investigated. In the experimental group, the Hip Hip Hooray digital game was used whereas in the Control group, English listening skill was taught through Teacher’sguide method. To accomplish this aim a quasi-experimental research study was conducted in 4 classes (totally 98) in Noor Alborz English Institute. A pre-posttest design was used to examine whether digital-games could improve Iranian kids’ listening. At the end of the teaching period, the participants’ performances were compared. The results indicated that the mean score of the children in the experimental group was significantly higher than those in the control group, indicating the positive effect of using digital games in teaching English Listening Comprehension on Level 5.
