The reflection of confidentiality in the traditional houses of Shushtar: A symbol for religious culture

Iranian architecture from the past is special attention to the principle of introversion. It was a somewhat central courtyard and principles of access hierarchy are provided. Confidentiality has been important because that somebody always need to feel safe in their private life and their privacy to be respected by others. The main aim of this study isinvestigating confidentiality layers in traditional housing as the religious identity values. Research methods in this paper with referring to documents and library studies and field observations traditional houses in the city of Shushtar has been done. In this paper, a new look at Shushtar traditional houses, the analysis hierarchy and introversion as valuable concepts relevant with confidentiality. The results of this study show that confidentiality in different layers to create independence for people and spaces, as well as providing physical and mental comfort for family members; it corresponded with Islamic orders.Family members should be safe from being seen and being heard. The use of different percussion entrance of a building, making a place called the vestibule at the entrance, the formation of interiors and exteriors, veranda, tall parapet on the roof, small windows, and the high walls which are another example of confidentiality.
