Effective factors for urban heritages to adopt an essential role in everyday life

Numerous researches has been done in order to investigate the attractions and distractions of a destination for tourists. The main purpose of this research is to increase the tourist’s satisfaction, the number of visitors and, as a result, to rise total income of touristic cities. However, the satisfaction of the citizens who live in such areas and their desires have been neglected. This is a fact that the modernist approach toward cultural heritage which regards every old building as a museum should change and it will not happens unless we can find a meaningful relationship between urban heritages and not only visitors but also regular citizens. This paper tends to find contributing factor which can affect this relationship positively through asking their users and visitors about their desires, dissatisfactions and behaviors in such contexts. Three historic complex in Shiraz have been chosen as case study and numbers of interviews has been done there. Nine categories of criteria have been extracted from these interviews for future interventions in historic complexes.
