Abstract:
The target of present paper focused on investigations the effect of fine content on engineering properties of binary granular fragments immersed into the fine particles. Fine content (FC) ratio as an index is selected to peresent the amount of fine (particles with sizes between 19 and 0.15 mm) in the mixtures. Various proportions of fine and fragments are selected to represent different structures of binary granular mixtures.By calculating the minimum porosity of the granular in the mixtures the possible transition zone was specified.The results of this study indicate that the transition of fine soil content occurred at a range of 70 to 85 % of the fine content which is the properties of the mixture controlled by both fine and large particles.
