Abstract:

In order to select high yielding, stress tolerant, rather grain in pod number, larger grain size and adaptable genotypes of lentil possessing good quality characteristics for dryland areas of country, this study was conducted in Gachsaran agricultural research station at 2008-09 growing season. This research includes two trials: Preliminary Lentil Yield Trial (PLYT) including 30 genotypes that have been selected to LIEN08 and LIDTN08 international nurseries trials with Gachsaran check cultivar that cultivates in systematic yield trial and other trial was advance lentil yield trial (ATest) including 15 genotypes that have been selected to intra station lentil yield trial in previous agronomic year, were conducted through Randomized Complete Block Design with 3 replicates respectively. During growing season data were collected from some agronomical and morpho-physiological traits such as stability, plant high, days to flowering, days to maturity and reaction to ascochyta blight and fusarium wilt diseases were evaluated. Next crop harvesting, thousand kernel weight, seed number in pod, seed yield and other characteristics measured. In A-test trial comparisons between the grain yield of new genotypes and check variety (Gachsaran) were done by analysis of variance were performed on grain yield and mean comparisons were done through LSD method. In PLYT trial grain yield of each genotype comparates with Gachsaran check cultivar by curve. Finally genotypes that had high potentioal yield ratio to check variety and had agronomic useful traits were selected for next stages at 2009-10 growing season.
