Abstract:

To evaluation of yield stability of safflower advanced varieties under warm rainfed conditions, 11 genotype of safflower with Isfahan cultivar as control were planted in 5 rows with distance of 25 cm. This work performed in 3 years (2005-2008) using randomized complet block design with 3 replications. The sowing date was December for each year of study. During growth season, data collected from agronomical and morphophysiological traits i.e.: plant height, days to flowering and maturity, number of heads per plant, number of seeds per head, seed yield and 1000-seed wieght. The simple and combine analysis done by MSTATC software and mean comparisons performed via least significant difference (LSD) method. Result of simple analysis of first year of study showed that, the genotyps of S-541 and 149 with seed yield of 1388.1 and 1278.3 kg/ha respectively, have higher and genotype of Isfahan had lower seed yield among genotypes. In second year, higher seed yield was obtained by genotypes of 162 and PI-537636 (926.4 and 910.1kg/ha respectively) while, Isfahan had lower seed yield (618.7 kg/ha) among genotypes. Combined analysis of variance of seed yield showed that there were significant differences (P < 0.0001) for all the sources of variation except genotype main effect. Yield stability analysis via ranking method showed that the genotypes of 162, 149, 146, PI- 537598 and S-541 with ranks of 3, 4.5, 5, 5.5 and 5.5 respectively, have higher yields. Rank standard diviations of these genotypes were 2.83, 3.54, 1.41, 3.54 and 6.36 respectively. Finaly, results releaved that these genotypes have acceptable yields and could suggest to planting in Gachsaran and other similar regions.
