Abstract:

In order to genetically improvement of Populus caspica, conventional hybridization between different poplar species took place. Twige and pot system as an artificial pollination and fertilization was used to produce hybrid poplar between Populus caspica with Populuse nigra, P. alba and P. euphratica. Pollinared10, 14 and 21 days old ovaries with pollen grain of Populuse nigra, P. alba and P. euphratica were isolated and transferred to MS and Half- MS (half concentrated macro elements) medium. Flower obsession was observed for most pollinated flowers of Populus caspica with Populuse nigra, P. deltoids, P. simionii pollen grain. Due to multi embryoni of Populus caspica ovary, 2 to 3 plantlets were produced from each isolated ovaries. Twige and pot pollinated system appear to be successful method for artificial pollination and fertilization. Half-MS medium induced higher percentage of pollinated populus caspica embryo germination in crosses with Populus caspica (control ) and with P. alba (30.2 and 33 % respectively), while higher % of populus caspica embryo (32.8%) was observed in MS medium. Compeer to the 10 and 21 days embryos, fourteen days old populus caspica embryos as a maternal parents were produced highest embryo germination in all crosses. Totally 80 plantlets after successful acclimatization were transfer to the green-house and field. Phenotypic ally variation indicated successful hybridization of Populus caspica and numerous hybrid plants were produced from this species.
