Abstract:

A field experiment was carried out during (1996 1999) to test the effects of Compost and sulfur fertilizers on yield and uptake by com at Darab Bakhtajerd Research station. We had four treatments in five replications as fallows: T] :: Control (NPK), T2 = TI+ 10000 kg Compost per hec;tare, T3 = T\+ 200 kg sulfur per hectare, and T4 = T 1 + T2 + T3. NPK used according to the soil test thus soil sample prepared in complex form and sampling from plant carried out in 2 times. Samples of leaves have done in flowering stage and sample of seed after harvesting. Plant analysis carried out to determine the concentration of elements (N, P, K, Fe, Mn, ln, and Cu). Results of this experiment showed that: Application ofT2, T3 and T4 , Significantly increased seed com yield. The length and diameter of com ear in T2 was significantly differed (at 5%level) With respect to other treatments. The weight of seeds and fibers and total weight of ear in all treatments significantly increased (at 5%level). The concentration of N and P in leaves of plants with respect to control wasn't significantly differed (at 5% level) but concentration of K was significant. The concentration of Fe, Mn, Cu in leaves and seeds increased significantly in a treatments but Zn concentration were not significant in seed. The concentration of ln in leaves of plants increased and was significantly differed (at 5% level).
