Determination of CompatibleApple Dwarf Interstocks forWest AzarbyjanPedoclimactic Conditions

This research was carried out in order to determine adaption potential, some combinations dwarf interstock withapple cultivars in climate conditionalWest Azarbyjan, Urmia. The experiment was conducted in a factorial experiment using Completely Randomized Block Design (CRBD) with 12 treatments and 3 replications in two stations including Kahriz and Saatloo. Treatments were including interstock(M9, MM106), Length interstock(10, 20 cm) and two apple cultivars( Red delicious and Golden delicious) as scion.The results indicated that interstock had significant effect on bearing, vegetative growth, height and canopy trees. Based on this results, increased iterstock length significantly decreased vegetative growth, height and canopy tree but incresed yield and bearing time. Interstock had no significant effect on fruit quality. Bearing time was earlier in combinations with larger interstock compared control(no interstock used).The highest yield was obtained from 20 cm MM106 interstock length in Golden delicious.The ressults suggested combination Golden delicious/MM106(20cm, length)/MM11seedling has the potential for high density apple fruit orchards without trellis establishing and costadditional.
