Identification of some new Rose cultivars using distinctness, uniformity and stability abstract
In rose breeding projects ten new cultivars were produced by hybridizing method using seven clones which were selected from Rose collection of Ornamental Plants Research Institute in Mahallat and 2 superior genotypes selected that produced by irradiation method (nude explants and tissue culture) . In order to registration and identification of these rose genotypes, main characteristics for distinctness, uniformity and stability of roses in international guideline were investigated. At this study nine bushes of each genotype were studied. All roses were evaluated with parents and commercial cultivar in term of uniformity, stability and distinctness test for two years. All 12 genotypes were introduced as new cultivar due to unmatched difference in color of petal, flower form and leaf color. Irradiated genotypes NIOP R-C01 with red- purple segmental petals and NIOP-R-C04 with a white color on the backside of petal with high yield of branches per square meters, and also genotypes of PY 3, 17, 27, 52 that have the same parents are valuables due to color of flower, flower form and branch yield per square meters. Py3 genotype with cream color and pitcher-shaped form of flower bud, PY17 genotype with red petals and yellow spots on petal base, PY27 genotype with red in petals and ball form of flower bud and PY52 genotype with two colors of white and Red in petal and yield of branches per square meters were selected for registration and exploitation.Key word: New rose genotypes, registration, DUS test
