Study of adaptability Asian pear cultivars in West Azarbaijan climatic conditions

Asian pears based on shape, size, color, flavor, texture and ripening time of fruit of is differences from European pears. In order to study the adaptation these pears in West Azarbaijan climatic conditions 8 cultivars includeKS6, KS7, KS8, KS9, KS10, KS12, KS13 and KS14 as well as two Shah Miveh and Spadona as control wereestablished in Kahriz Horticultural Research Station. The research was carried out at randomized complete block with 3 replications and 10 treatments during 4 years. Combined analysis of variance revealed significant difference (P ≤ 0.01) amonggenotypes for all the experimental characters. Asian cultivars had fruit weight, TSS less and number fruit, yield more than control cultivars. Correlation analysis revealed significant positive fruit firmness and number of fruit per tree. The cluster analysis placed genotypes into three groups. Group I contained KS6, KS7, KS8,KS9, group II KS10,KS12,KS13,KS14 and group III control cultivars. Among Asian cultivars, KS7 and KS10 had taste better than others and were early cultivars. So two cultivars can be cultivated as the superior in the Azarbaijan area and similar regions.Key words: Asian pear, reproductive traits, Correlation, cluster analysis
