‭Satsuma mandarin is one of the most important early mature cultivars in the world as fresh fruit market. This study conducted to achieve the best combination of new imported Satsuma cultivars grafted on different rootstocks and to determine suitable harvest time and to evaluate the quality characteristics of fruits at both harvest time and during storage. The experiment carried out on new Satsuma mandarin cultivars include Clausellina, Okitsu, Sugiyama and control on four rootstocks, including Poncirus, Citromelo, Citrange and Sour orange with three replications during two years. The results indicated that the effect of harvest time on all parameters with the exception of fruit skin thickness was significant. The effect of year on all parameters with the exception of hue (h ) and TSS / TA was significant. Also the effect of variety on all parameters and the effect of rootstock on fruit length, hue, skin thickness, TA, TSS and vitamin C was significant. Sugiyama had a higher brightness (L *) and chroma (C *) and a lower hue (h ) than other cultivars. In all cultivars, TA shows a significant decreasing trend at different harvest times. Maturity index (TSS / TA), Sugiyama cultivar in late September (6.8), Okitsu in early October (7.80) and Clausellina (7.34) compared with the control. All new cultivars reached to an acceptable maturity index almost two months earlier than control. The results also showed that skin color become darker (lower L *), more intense (higher C *) and deep orange color (lower h ), during storage. The total soluble solids did not show a significant difference during storage compared to the first assessment. The total acidity decreased significantly during storage. Also vitamin C content showed a significant decrease of 14.44 mg to 9.76 mg during 2 months of storage. The EC and pH were significantly increased during 60 days storage. Weight loss of all cultivars increased significantly during the second month of cold storage. The lowest of weight loss obtained by Sugiyama and control with 8.36% and 9.39%, during 30 days storage respectively. While Clausellina 11% showed the highest of weight loss. According to the results the best harvest time for Sugiyama, Okitsu and Clausellina cultivars is from late September to early October. Generally, Sugiyama and Okitsu recommended as new early maturing varieties on Poncirus and Citromelo rootstocks in this area.
