Abstract:
sustainable development of urban water supply and distribution systems has posed challenges to urban water managers and policy - makers in last two decades. Up until the introduction of sustainable development concept in the late 1980s the evaluation of urban water supply and distribution systems was limited to measuring these systems performance in delivering the conventional services in short term horizons but it has been globally recognized for more than two decades that these systems should also be assessed based on their ability to astisfy the objectives of sustainable development inlong term horizons.
