A Concept Map of Knowledge Integration in Project-based Organizations

this paper aims to exposure a concept map of knowledge integration (KI) domain, especially in the context of project-based organization (PBO), based on literature review. We have approached KI as the key knowledge management (KM) process that has a significant role in realizing organizational learning. Despite the high significance, this domain has been largely neglected in previous researches. In this research, concept mapping research method was used. In the research process, related previous papers and researches as the main input information, were studied deeply. Further, the concepts of the previous papers were extracted, the relevance between concepts were identified, concepts were classified, and consequently the concept map was shaped. The authors reviewed the literature of learning, KM and KI in the context of projects and PBOs; identified the main concepts of the domain, classified the concepts, and represented them to make an insight of the domain. Some facts and results from the literature and concept mapping process concluded and delivered. Also two general approaches in the KI field have been identified and compared. This paper can aid managers and business experts to start a KM plan in their organization, especially for PBOs.
