Abstract:

a number of different configuraional schemes may be used to retrofit RC joints by FRP sheets including web bonding flange bonding and combination of the two. In this paper a new flange bonded scheme with practical application to 3D RC frames is presented and its effectiveness is compared to that of the web bonded scheme. for this purpose nonlinear pughover analyses of detailed FE models of a typical retrofitted exterior joint of a benchmark RC frame were carried out.
