Considerations in inter–basin water transfer plans (IBWT) with respect to sustainable development and on basis of national and international experiences

Incompatibility of human needs and facilities and earth resources, is the major dilemma of human being which has let to causing concerns among thinkers. Now it has become crystal clear for all the people round the globe that the movement of human society based on sustainable development is the only way for keeping life on the earth planet. Water is the common treasure for human being that must be handed over to next generations and health and well-being of men, food security and industrial development all together are at risk, unless integrated management and optimum usage of water resources and planning and environmental management as well be the headline for government policies, programs and investments. The development of Inter-basin Water Transfer plans accompanied by observing all environmental, technical, economical and social consideration is among the solutions to obtain the persistent development purposes in country water resources management.
