Abstract:

Numerous investigations have been performed to control the sound transmission in multilayer panels in sandwich structure. In this work sound transmission loss (STL) is investigated in multilayer structure with three panels and through each both panels there is a corrugated core. Corrugated core has been modelled as translational and rotational springs and plates equations obtained by using classic theory. Result of STL in triple layer panel has compared with double layer sandwich structure with the same parameters. Then tuned mass damper (TMD) resonator with optimized number and parameters has been added to the third plate and STL has been compared with triple plates structure without resonator. Aim of this research is investigating effect of increasing the number of plates and adding resonator to prevention sound transmis-sion. The results of STL variation to frequency variation has been investigated. This study shows that increasing the number of layers with resonator leads to improvement of sound ab-sorbing operation.
