Abstract:

Polymeric materials that have a three-dimensional structure and can hold a lot of water due to theirhydrophilic properties are called hydrogels. These hydrogels have various applications in the body, the mostsignificant of which are drug delivery and tissue engineering. There are also stimuli-responsive hydrogels suchas light-sensitive, pressure-responsive and electro-sensitive. In this paper, light and temperature sensitivehydrogel have been synthesized and formation of this hydrogel have been confirmed by FT-IR, HNMR andDSC tests. This system is based on host-guest interaction that the host portion is β-cyclodextrin. Light andtemperature sensitivity is due to the presence of Azo compounds and polyNIPAM group, respectively.
