New protocol to the synthesis of spiro dihydropyrrole-oxindole derivatives

A novel approach for the synthesis of spiro [indoline-۳,۲'-pyrrole] derivatives through a three-component reaction of isatin-based ketimines, pyridinium salts, and alkynes in the presence of DABCO under low power microwave irradiation is developed. The products were obtained in ۷۰-۹۵% yields in ۳-۱۵ mins. The advantages of this method consist of environmentally friendly reaction conditions, short reaction times, and good to excellent yields.
