Abstract:
This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of stress inoculation group training (SIT) on marital intimacy of women. The method of this research was semi experimental with pretest and posttest. The statistical society of this research was the married women students of Hazrat Zahra art school from Qom city. First of all, ۸۰ students were availability selected and assessed by Bagarozi Intimacy Needs Questionnaire (BINQ). Then ۳۰ participants were selected and randomly divided to experimental and control groups. Each of the groups involved ۱۵ participants. The entry criteria for samples were the age between ۱۷ to ۱۹ years old, being female, being married, being student, low socioeconomic level, and under the intimacy cut of points. The experimental group presented with ۸ session of stress inoculation group training while there was no intervention for control group. Results from MANCOVA analysis showed that there were significant differences between groups on intimacy in posttest with regard to pretest covariate. Finding suggests stress inoculation group training is effective for intimacy in married women.
