Abstract:
The United Nations Development Policy can be considered a policy that, to achieve sustainable development and human development, protects people against factors that endanger human values and well-being. Meanwhile, specialized organizations affiliated with the United Nations and some of its subsidiary bodies play an essential role in implementing UN development policies in developing countries. This study examines the role of these organizations in promoting human development in Iran and South Africa. This paper assesses human development level through the United Nations Annual Human Development Report and the indicators that the United Nations has used to measure this type of development. Indicators such as per capita production, life expectancy, educational and health status, and the standard of living of citizens are suitable tools for assessing the development and welfare status of UN development policies in Iran and South Africa.
