Abstract:
AZ۸۰ magnesium alloy was heated at ۴۱۰℃ and then was quenched in water at ambient temperature to increase the desired alloy's strength and flexibility. A thorough investigation was done through different microscopy analyses, including optical microscope and SEM, to characterize the microstructure changes. Using these techniques found that the second phase γ (Mg Al ) wholly dissolved in the matrix. Then, by maintaining the temperature at ۱۷۰ for ۲۴ hours, phase γ particles with layered morphology were obtained as scattered in the boundaries and magnesium grains and were increased the yield and tensile strength.
